'UBS now No.2 for US Fixed Income Sales and Trading

For the fourth consecutive year UBS has improved its position in the annual Institutional Investor survey of US fixed income institutional clients, now ranking No.2 both in Overall Sales and Overall Trading (up from No.3 in 2003, and No. 8 as recently as 2001).

UBS finished second only to Lehman Brothers in both overall sales and trading categories, and ahead of noted peers Citibank, Goldmans, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch among others.

This follows on from UBS’s recent success in the US FI Research poll released in September when some 21 analysts and teams at UBS gained Leader-board positions, up from 17 in 2003. See story.

Institutional Investor polled the 300 largest US fixed income institutional investors on a range of products across Corporates, Structured Securities, Govies, Munis and Emerging Markets. For the first time, Institutional Investor calculated two rankings for each category; weighting the results both by US FI assets under management and by average monthly trading volumes for US FI portfolios.
