Credit Magazine recognizes UBS

UBS has been recognized in three ‘Deals of the Year' awards in Credit Magazine's annual feature. The Investment Bank helped earn the ‘Emerging Markets Deal of the Year' accolade as coordinating bookrunner for a dual tranche US$2bn Eurobond financing for OJSC Vimpel-Communications (VimpelCom), Russia's leading telecommunications operator. Additionally, the firm acted as joint adviser, bookrunner and sponsor for Lloyds Bank TSB's GBP 400m 10-year senior unsecured note, and was subsequently awarded the ‘Sterling Investment Grade Financial Deal of the Year'. The Investment Bank also acted as joint lead manager on Westpac SPS's AUD 1,036m issue, receiving the ‘Best Local Currency Market Bonds - Non-Core Dollar Deal of the Year' award.

Fixed income receives awards Down Under

UBS Australia's fixed income trading business recently won two industry awards and strong praise for its role in boosting overall liquidity during a year in which many traditional clients were largely absent from the market. Despite operating under the same balance sheet constraints as others, trade publication KangaNews awarded UBS 'Australian Domestic Secondary Market House of the Year' and 'Australian Domestic Vanilla Deal of the Year' for 2008. UBS also topped the Australian issuance league table for non-self led deals in 2008.
