Clients hail UBS's electronic offering in Euromoney poll

The Investment Bank has won a swathe of accolades for its electronic products across the FX, equities and fixed income business areas. Almost 1,800 end users voted in this year's Euromoney Internet Technology Awards - and the results reveal the high regard that UBS clients have for the firm's electronic offering.

When asked which platforms they used most, voters overwhelmingly cited UBS, allowing the firm to achieve first-place positions for FX, fixed income and derivatives, and a second place ranking for equities overall.

UBS was cited as the Best Overall FX Service Provider, thanks to its client-centric approach to technology. Within FX, UBS was named as Best at FX Trading, Best at Online Research and Analytics, Best at E-FX Options and Best at E-FX Prime Brokerage.

As well as Best Overall for Fixed Income, UBS was named Best at Fixed-Income Electronic Services For Debt Issuers (ECP/MTN), Best at Fixed-Income Electronic Prime Brokerage and Best at Fixed-Income Electronic Analytics. In this last category, UBS's multi-award winning CreditDelta service receives lengthy praise.

The firm also "shines" in equities, according to the magazine. Named second overall, the firm was hailed as Best at Equity Research, Best at Convertibles and Best at New Issues.

The firm also triumphed in Derivatives, which Euromoney split out from the businesses. The firm was voted Best Overall, Best at Equity Derivatives, Best at Credit Derivatives and Best at ETDs Trading.

UBS tops 2005 II Emerging EMEA Research Team survey

For the second consecutive year, Institutional Investor has named UBS the top-rated equity research firm in emerging markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In the magazine's Emerging EMEA Research Team survey UBS achieved a total of ten team positions, including five first team analysts (up from two in 2004), two second team analysts, and one third team analyst.

The accolade follows the firm's success in February when UBS was ranked number one in II's 2005 All-Europe Research Team Survey for the fourth consecutive year.
