UBS tops II All-Asia research poll for fourth year running

For the fourth year in a row, UBS has been ranked No. 1 in Institutional Investor's All-Asia (Asia and Australia ex-Japan) research survey. According to the industry's most highly respected poll, UBS is the region's leading provider of equity research.

On a weighted basis, UBS maintained its number-one ranking in equity research with a market share of 26% - and increased its lead over the second-placed broker to 12% (versus 5% in 2004). The widened gap is a reflection of an increase in the number of top-rated teams from UBS.

UBS ranked in 28 out of 29 categories, including ranking No. 1 in a total of 16 categories: China, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Autos/Auto Parts, Banks/Other Financials, Power, Property, Technology/Hardware, Technology/IT Services & Software, Transportation, Quantitative/Derivatives and Metals/Mining.

The poll was conducted between November 2004 and January 2005. Over 300 fund management groups, running an estimated total of US$810bn in non-Japanese Asian equities, voted. The result is further evidence that Asia Pacific equity clients continue to regard UBS as the number-one provider of equity sales and research services in the region.
